Lesson Templates
Overview
This guide explains how to create Lesson Templates in the MAXRES Construct platform. Lesson templates provide a pre-defined structure that can be reused across multiple courses, making the course-building process faster and more efficient. Templates can be created and edited by Workspace Admins and Super Admins, while Course Creators can use these templates to build their courses.
Objectives
By following this guide, you will:
- Learn how to create and save a new lesson template.
- Understand how to add Tasks, Sub-tasks, KLPs, and Elements to templates for future reuse.
Requirements
- Super Admin or Workspace Admin access to create and edit templates.
- Course Creator access to use templates for building courses.
Roles
This guide is intended for:
- Super Admins
- Workspace Admins
- Course Creators (for using templates)
Process
1. Creating a New Lesson Template
-
Add a New Course
- From the dashboard, click the Add new course button to start creating a new course.
-
Save as Template
- In the course creation form, check the box labeled Save as Template? to designate the course as a reusable template. This ensures the course structure will be saved for future use.
-
Fill in Course Project Details
- Complete the Course Project Form with relevant details, such as the course title, description, and metadata.
-
Save the Template
- After completing the required fields, click Save. You will be redirected to the Course Structure view to begin building your template.
2. Building the Lesson Structure in the Template
-
Add Tasks, Sub-tasks, KLPs, and Elements
- In the Course Structure view, add the following components to your template:
- Tasks (TOs): Represent major sections or units within the course.
- Sub-tasks (EOs): Smaller, detailed sections under each task.
- KLPs (Key Learning Points): Highlight key takeaways or learning objectives.
- Elements: Add content such as text, media, quizzes, or assessments.
- In the Course Structure view, add the following components to your template:
-
Save the Structure
- Once all Tasks, Sub-tasks, KLPs, and Elements are added, save the structure. These components will now be part of the lesson template, ready for reuse in future course creation.
Important Notes
- Only Workspace Admins and Super Admins can create and edit templates.
- Course Creators cannot create templates but can use existing templates to build new courses.
By following these steps, you can efficiently create reusable lesson templates that streamline the course development process, saving time and ensuring consistency across multiple courses.
